Try cooking pinakbet for lunch. Lots of vegetables to peel, chop, dice, etc isn’t?
Now try cooking pinakbet for lunch…with a toddler pulling your leg and saying “come come” with matching pout and almost going to cry look.
That was the scene at our kitchen this morning. I wanted to cook a decent meal for the two of us and the little girl wants my attention, and she won’t take no for an answer.
“Come” mean carry by the way, she wanted to be carried then taken to the living room where we should play.
Most of the time she lets me do my business in the kitchen and play peacefully by herself until I’m done.
Not this morning.

My daughter often likes to walk around the house barefoot. Any type of footwear I try to make her wear she will remove instantly when I’m not looking. This is why I’m thinking it would be better if we have a carpet and not tiles for our floors. It would be more comfortable for a toddler to walk around on and I don’t have to worry about the cold floors she is walking on so much. I’m thinking about the cleaning involved too but we have a pretty good vacuum cleaner and I think it will do the job well. As for stains well I’ll figure out how to deal with them. I know there are discount carpet available at certain stores so we could really get a good price. I haven’t told this idea to my husband yet though, we’ll see what he says. Another idea would be to have laminate flooring installed but I think carpet is the better way to go. And speaking of carpet, I didn’t know there was a carpet like Empire Today carpets that are good for homes with pets. From the Empire Carpet Stories I’ve read online I say they have a great selection and good quality as well.
I really don’t need to be shopping for the little girl right now because she’ll be turning two in two short months and she’ll be receiving lots of gifts then. I also haven’t sorted her closet which is no overflowing with clothes. I need to organize it and keep those that are now too small for her. But then last week I spent a day browsing Etsy and found some cute dresses.
I’m hooked to Etsy now. There’s a lot of cute handmade items there. I’ve added a lot of sellers on my favorite list and I think I will place more orders next week. II got the two dresses above. The seller was so nice and she was having a promotion when I ordered so I got matching hair clips for the dresses. I also got other items at Etsy which I will share in my other blog. My sister asked me why I order online when I buy clothes for Iyah whenever we go the mall anyway, well because it’s fun (lol). More Etsy shopping in this blog post of mine here.
If you know me then you know that I do enjoy shopping especially for baby products. Having a daughter gives me a lot of options when it comes to clothes and accessories, one of the perks of having a girl. And let’s face it shopping for babies and toddlers is really fun whethere it is at the mall or online. And like shopping at the mall, when shopping online I always try to find a good bargain. Toddler clothing is not cheap especially for someone who shops a lot like me so I try to get good deals for my purchases. The more bang for my buck the better it is.
This is why I like shopping online, it is very convenient for me and I can browse for coupons and sales without having very tired feet several hours later. Of course you have to know your child’s size and exact measurements so that you won’t end up buying something too small for him or her. I’ve place several orders online and every single item arrived at my mailbox without a problem. I’ve never returned anything too, I guess you just have to know where to shop. I like finding every sale and bargain in one useful website, it makes it even easier to find what I want at the price that I would be willing to pay for. So when it your next shopping trip?

Here are our little girl’s favorite…
1. Nilaga. She likes the soup and the pork, the veggies not so much but I’m able to feed her a little.
2. Fried chicken. Whether it is the fried chicken I cook at home or at KFC, basta fried chicken (lol).
3. Fish. Surprisingly she likes fish, fried or with clear soup and veggies.
4. Pancakes. She likes Mcdonald’s pancakes, we have it for breakfast from time to time.
5. Beef wanton noodles.
6. Cakes and ice cream for dessert. This girl has a sweet tooth.
That’s all I can think of right now. She doesn’t eat a lot but I’m so glad she we’re not at the phase where she won’t eat anything.
How about your kids? Please share. ![]()
I seem to be talking a lot about wanting to spruce up our living room these days. Well what can I say when you’re a stay at home mom and you spend a lot of time in the living room it starts to get boring and you feel the need to decorate. I’ve been browsing online for inspiration and ideas, of course tips too. I don’t know anything about decorating really but I know what look I want to achieve so I browse online and find out how to do it. I came across several great sites on Modern Furniture.
Now how’s that for a piece of Modern Furniture? I really love the design, it is so sleek and stylish. I don’t want a lot of clutter (although I must say that our home is not as clutter free as I’d want it to be because of my toddler) and I want simple clean lines. This table over here fits the bill exactly. I wonder how it will do with sticky hand prints on it? I also love the idea of having a Chaise Lounge in the living, it will finish off the modern look I want to achieve. It is so nice going online and finding all these great sites. I think with Modern Furniture you have a lot of options to choose from. I definitely bookmarked that ones I really love.
About the little girl…
She is talking more clearly as each day passed by. We can have some sort of conversation now (with words, lol).
She was playing when she hit her head lightly on the wall, she said “ouchie” to me.
She was eating crackers for her afternoon snack when she saw crumbs on her dress, she said “oh no” followed by a sigh (I can’t help but laugh on this one).
She tells me “mommy tummeeee” then she points to her tummy (she do this with other body parts too).
She answers “I-yah” when you ask her what’s her name.
She says “pwesss” when she wants to press the lift knobs or switch off the lights.
She says “pog” and “tat” for dogs and cats she sees on TV or computer.
She insists on watching Barney on our Ipod video (yes she’s the one using it now).
She doesn’t want anyone to switch channels when she’s watching her favorite shows.
She knows how to flush the toilet.
She says “see see” so we’ll show her the photos of her we just took.
She says “no no no” when she doesn’t want something.
She says “hhug” then gives us lots of hugs, works with kisses too.
Hmmm that’s all I can think of right now. I’m posting all here so that I won’t forget myself (for scrapbooking purposes).
Hello blogger friends. Thanks to everyone who did the Snack Time. The master list is updated as of this writing. Let me know if there is anyone I missed.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
It’s been a relaxing weekend here at home. A lot of household chores but still it is always great when everyone is home and the little girl can spend time with her dad. I managed to cross-out some of the tasks on my to-do list which is great. I was dusting at the living and noticed that the lamp by the phone is busted. I’ve been telling my husband we need new light fixtures here but he doesn’t believe me. Well I guess now he would and we’ll finally get new ones.
It’s great that good home lighting is easy to find here. Just last week when we went to the mall we saw a huge sale at one of the home furnishing store and they have a huge selection too. We were looking at chandeliers and ceiling light fixtures while we were there and it was really nice. I hope we could go back there again next weekend and I also hope they’re still have a sale.
