She’s going to be 22 months in a few days.
She sings her ABCs and counts 1-10 more clearly now. She doesn’t know all the letters yet but she can pronounce a lot of them (and mumble the rest, lol). As for counting we only go up to 10 for now.
She loves singing along with the theme song of Friends (yes we still watch the show on cable). She actually likes singing a lot.
Currently loves Barney, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Pocoyo, Jojo Circus and Hinkley Town Heroes.
She uses our Ipod video to watch her fave videos.
Is not a picky eater although I’m not going to say she is matakaw.
Knows how to brush her teeth. I let her after do it after I brush her teeth.
She likes to help out. Give me something when I ask her too. Switch on/off the fan, etc.
Can sleep by herself during nap times. This doesn’t happen everyday but it’s a great when it does. I just tell her that it’s time to sleep and she should close her eyes.
Likes to point on our body parts and tell us what it is (like nose, eyes, ears tummy, etc).
Calls and talks to her daddy on the phone.
That’s all I can think of for now.
I was looking at our living room the other day and I really think it is time for a makeover. It looks fine and everything but since I’m always taking pictures of the little girl we need to change it up a bit. My husband and I both agree that Modern Furniture is the way to go. My mom and I are very different when it comes to home decorating and furnitures. She likes antiques while I prefer Contemporary Furniture. She likes to collect things like vases and display them all on shelves. I prefer less clutter and minimal display. I guess it’s because I have a toddler that would grab anything she can reach, so having a lot of display is not a good idea at the moment.
Our sofa still looks good although I won’t mind having something like this:
We have white a white sofa too but the bold orange and yellow cushions make all the difference. It gives it a bright and happy feel to it. I think the design is great too, clean lines and sophisticated. I think Italian Furniture are made this way, very classy. I’m not sure we can afford Designer Furniture right now especially since I just splurge on a new camera but it does seem very tempting. I still think we need to spruce our living room a little bit. If I can’t get new furniture I’ll settle for new cushions and a nice rug then.

Last Wednesday we went shopping at Ikea. The little girl was so excited. Of course she didn’t know where we were going but as long as we go outside the house she is one happy little girl. See this is her when we were about to go…you can see how delighted she was (thank goodness for good lighting I was able to get this nice photo).
We got there around lunch time to we went to the restaurant first. Good thing is was a weekday because on weekends this place is packed with hungry shoppers. The little girl was behaved the whole time. She ate her food and stayed on her seat (to mommy and daddy’s relief). We were able to enjoy our lunch.
Now when we went to the store it was a different story. She became really excited, especially when we were at the children’s furniture section. She was giggling and running all over the place. She sat on the sofas, lay down on the beds and played with the toys.
Guess what she wanted us to buy for her? A lint remover! Lol. She was carrying two lint rollers the whole time, good thing I was able to distrate her with something else so I was able to take it from her before we checked out our purchases. I ended up getting new bedsheets, curtains for the living room window, some kitchen stuff and a tent for Iyah.
It was a great shopping trip indeed.
That’s what I’m thinking about this year. If the little girl is ready for her first halloween costume. This is not her first halloween but it is the first time I’m considering the option of choosing amongst different Halloween Costumes and find the one that is perfect for her. It is not really common here to celebrate or prepare for halloween but I thought dressing up in cool halloween costumes is a great idea now that our little girl is a bit bigger. I know I could find the perfect costumes for her but I really want one that isn’t so scary looking. Maybe something that is whimsical and fun. Yes I think that would be better for a toddler.
These costumes are so adorable. I figured she could dress up as a princess when she’s a bit older but for now she could be minnie mouse or a care bear. She loves watching disney cartoons and I loved Care Bears as a child. Any of these two will be great for her. Now I have to talk to my friend who brings her kids to the mall on halloween, I have to check if there is some kind of party or program that her kids go to dressed in their costumes. We could probably join them, oh I’m getting excited just thinking of the photos I could take. You know the scrapbooker in me is whispering that I should get my daughter a costumes so I could take pictures of her. Well it doesn’t sound like such a bad idea at all, in fact I think it’s great. It would just be more fun for her if she gets to spend time with other kids dressed in costumes too. She loves being around other kids so I’m sure she’ll have a great time. Now to decide on that halloween costume…

MY ANSWER:
I grew up in a home where there’s a household help to do everything around the house for us. For my dad is was more important to study our lessons than to help with everyday things. I knew he meant well but I never learned to do housework because of that. It was only when I lived abroad and got married that I was forced to face household chores. I came a long way from that clueless person that I was. I would however say that I hate folding laundry, yes that’s the chore I dislike the most.
So how about you, Litzie, Joy, Diane and Caryl and anyone else who wants to share what chores you hate and at the same time wants to improve that technorati;)
Iyah takes up after her mom and dad, she likes using the computer too. A few days ago I mentioned about how she loves watching Barney videos on Youtube, she would actually try to find the site by herself…

Take a look. I went in the kitchen for a minute and found her “using” my laptop. Notice how she knows how to use the mouse as well. She likes looking the mouse pointer move around the screen.

Here she is checking my messages on YM and MSN.
Whenever she finds the computer chair vacant she will sit on it and reach for the keyboard. In a few years I think I will have someone to share my laptop with ![]()
