I just read an article at Babycenter about this topic and it was indeed very timely. My little girl is turning two in a a few weeks and it made me think if we’re ready to try for baby number two now. Am I read to trade in my normal tops and jeans for Maternity Dresses again? What about my current and not so ideal weight, what will happen to me when I get pregnant again? Will I let Maternity Clothes cover my flabs? Don’t get me wrong I don’t look like a whale and I’m sure I can find nice Maternity Wear that will suit me too but yes I do question what will happen to my weight after the birth of baby number two. Of course wearing maternity clothes are just a teeny part of what will change when I get pregnant, there’s far more important things to consider like how it would change our lives in general. I asked my friend the other day how it’s like having two kids now, she told me it was great but they’re also tired and don’t have much time to do other things too. For me I would like to be done having kids before I’m thirty, be it one or two more kids I don’t know yet. I just know that I want more than one child and I want their age gap to be relatively close, for me it is better that way. The article I read covered everything I had in mind, all the things I was considering when it comes to having another child. So if you are considering having another child now or next year you might want to read articles about it and weigh the pros and cons.
I can’t believe next month my little girl will be TWO years old!!! Time flew by indeed.
Here’s what babycenter have to say…
What’s your toddler doing? By 23 months, your child can probably hum and sing and make three-word sentences like “Bird fly high.” An artist, she can most likely copy circles and make line drawings. So encourage her with a big box of crayons and plenty of paper. And she’s beginning to get a handle on opposites, like tall woman, short woman or big hamburger, little hamburger.
Your toddler may now be able to throw a ball overhand, though she’ll probably miss her target most of the time. The whole-arm coordination that allows her to throw usually emerges somewhere between 18 months and 3 years.
If your toddler is ball-shy, start with rolling games, which will be easier and also less scary (try rolling the ball slowly toward her feet). Spongy balls or beanbags are great for indoor use — set up a pillow or bucket for target practice.
As her world view broadens, your toddler will take more of an interest in playing with other children. She might imitate how an older sibling plays soccer or follow after other kids as they play tag.
Looks like she’s on the right track and more. My little girl is really a todller now…
This little girl spent the weekend outdoors. We went to three different malls and the embassy and this baby tagged along with us. She had lots of fun of course. Saturday was easier because she spent a lot of time just sitting in her stroller and was great at meal times. Yesterday though she wanted to run around and didn’t want to be stuck in her stroller so it was tiring.
I love spending time with my little girl everyday, this is why I quit by job when I gave birth so that I could be with her and watch her grow. I wanted to take care of her myself and I’ve never regretted that decision. It is a joy to watch her learn new things everyday. These days though I’m having a hard time keeping her entertained all day, I have to find new activities for us to do. Making up fun new games and activities I could let her do and getting items from the local bookstore is what I’ve been doing so far. We plan to enroll her to a playgroup next year, she should have lots of fun there being with other kids. I bet the kids at Circus Arts Camp New York have so much fun too. They have activities for smaller kids and bigger kids which are half-day and full day camps respectively. If there is a Circus Arts Camp New York here I will consider enrolling her too. She’s too young for the pee-wee camp right now but when she’s older it would be an option for us. I think it is great to let kids get involved in activities where they can interact with other kids and me themselves. This is why I think is Circus Arts Camp New York a great idea. Kids could learn and have fun too, they will make new friends and learn new tricks, literally.
Nothing much, lol. I told myself this will be a laidback party and I don’t have to much this time around. I’m actually thinking about her party for her third birthday (hahaha way to early mommy) because by then she’s much bigger and can do a lot more things thus we can be more adventurous with the location and the theme. Anyway going back to her second birthday party, yes I’m not doing much at all.
See my to do list is pretty short, I told you I won’t stress myself too much.
For my little girl, yes more clothes. The toys will come later I haven’t even browsed toys for her age group yet. I got her a couple of dresses instead, my daughter is a girly girl and dresses are perfect for a girly girl like her…
Again everything is from Gymboree. Oh I got her a pair of flip flops too (eventhough I said I’m done shopping for footwear, lol). I can’t wait for all these new clothes to arrive at my doorstep. I will have to wrap these up too since they’re really her “birthday presents” and I’m excited about that too, I like wrapping presents ![]()
This is the highlight of my weekend. See the little girl? I can finally tie her hair in half a pig tail, yay! I decided not to cut her hair again until after her birthday and I’m so glad I did, her bangs are now long enough to be tied like this. She doesn’t take if off for hours too so it’s even better. Now I have to shop for more hair accessories, Etsy here I come.
If you haven’t noticed by now I will say it, I love Gymboree! I do buy Iyah’s clothes from Baby Gap, Pumpkin Patch, Fox Baby, Mother Care and Elle but Gymboree is my favorite store of all. Why? they have the cutest clothes for a reasonable price. And I do shop a lot for the little girl so I need prices to be reasonable (lol). I started shopping for the little girl’s brithday gifts last week (see my first loot here) and I think I would buy a few pieces here and there until her birthday which is next month. I got some clothes here…
Just some cut tops, she has a lot of bottoms right now so I thought more tops to mix and match will be a better choice.
I also got her these two matching outfits. I couldn’t resist. Shorts and skirts are really comfy especially if we go to a park or at the zoo and not our usual mall hang out. She looks cute in them too. I snagged some of the photos online but I got all these at the online store. I’d like to post more of that I bought but it will be too much photos in one post (lol) I’ll save that for next time.
Since my little girl’s birthday is next month I started shopping for her birthday gifts today. We’re having a smaller party compared to her first birthday that means I can splurge more on her gifts. Here are some of my first purchases…
These are all from Gymboree. Really cute but not that expensive at all. She outgrows her shoes rather quickly so if I like a design I order two in different sizes, that way if the other one is too small there is a another pair which will then fit her just fine. I got these online since there’s no Gymboree stores here yet. I would still checkout Baby Gap and see if they have anything nice and will definitely get her a new pair or Crocs.
Birthday Party Planning…
I’m looking for two nice birthday outfit for my little princess. The first one she’ll wear on her actual birthday and the other one on her KFC birthday party. I found some nice ones on line as well but since I haven’t bought any outfit yet I’ll save that post for later.
