How cute is this pout?! I’m not even sure she’s pouting when I took this photo. She could be sniffing for all I know. She often do Ernie’s (from Play with me Sesame) nose exercise so this could be one of those moments. It’s so funny when she wiggle, wiggle, wiggle her nose then she does the sniff, sniff, sniff, sniff as well (not so funny when she wiggles my nose…well actually it is still funny).
My little girl and I watch tv on certain hours of the day. While I understand that it is not good to let a child watch too much tv I also know that kids learn from what they watch. I don’t mind if we just stick to Playhouse Disney during the day, she loves watching her favorite cartoons. She dance and sing with the characters and I know she learns too. Right now she loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Pocoyo, Tiger and Pooh, Little Einsteins, Word World and Play with me Sesame. Like I said I don’t mind letting her watch tv, I don’t let her watch tv all day but I do let her enjoy a few shows. It’s fun to watch her too…
I know my little girl will love a toy like this one. She loves to imitate what we do these days and since she often see me and her daddy on the notebook computer she has gotten curious too.She would often sit on my lap when I’m typing and would then proceed to type as well. It would be nice if this toy laptop from Fisher Price has other colors available, I haven’t checked yet. I don’t think we’ll be getting her a lot of toys this Christmas though, maybe one big ticket item and a bunch of little stuff. Mainly because it is tiring to clean up the mess after she’s done playing, and she has a lot of toys to play with as it is. We’ll be going to Toys R’ Us next weekend, maybe I’ll change my mind…we’ll see.
I went a little crazy shopping for the little girl. These are too cute to resist so I gave in. It’s good that my husband doesn’t know that I got her six pairs of sandals from Gymboree for her birthday or he’ll think that I want our daughter to have a closet full of shoes before she turns three (lol). I’ll just pass these as part of her Christmas loot. I also ordered her dresses for Christmas and New Year, nothing frilly and fancy but both are cute.
I’m thinking about health insurance quote and wondering if what we have right now is enough. I know it is always better to be prepared and I do get that having an insurance is important especially these days when medical expenses doesn’t come cheap. I do feel that we have enough coverage, and I do pray for the health of my family. I’m really grateful that my daughter rarely get sick (only twice I think both with cough and cold with slight fever) and same goes for me and my husband. I still feel that it is wise to make sure that everything will be taken cared of when insurance is involved.
Now that my daughter is a toddler we’ve been going out just the two of us on weekdays. She’s big enough to walk that I don’t need to bring the stroller with us all the time. We only go to malls though, I haven’t ventured in the great outdoors yet so I don’t need to go looking for Nikon binoculars online just yet. The idea of going the the zoo or bird park is tempting but I’m not sure I could handle it just yet. It’s better when daddy is around so he could run after the little girl on uneven grounds. For the two of us, it’s just lunch at our favorites restaurant, a visit to the library, baby stores and coffee at Starbucks (for mommy before we head home. Perhaps in months to come I’ll be brave enough to take her somewhere, not right now.
I just love it when capture shots like this. It seems ordinary, just another day in our home but that’s what I love most about it. My little girl, one afternoon…watching videos from our laptop. I love the look on her face, it’s so cute watching her and of course it is fun to take photos of her too. Who needs TV when you could watch your daughter and be entertained?
Since we live abroad we never thought about buying a new car to replace our existing one back home. It is still working nicely and we only go for vacation at least once a year and it is hardly used these days. My dad always let us drive theirs when we come to visit them, so we have another option as well. We do have to find a Hondar Car Repair centre for the usual maintenance checks. When we’re about to go home we make sure the car is checked by a mechanic, better be safe than be stuck with engine trouble on the road I always. I had to check Car repair prices at several Auto Repair Shops to make sure we are getting a good deal. Sometimes it is hard to transact with someone over the phone so I ask my cousin to go the shop himself. Of course I don’t drive and I know nothing about cars except it gets me faster to the mall than commuting (lol) so my husband always tease me that I should get an Auto Repair Encyclopedia so I could understand what he’s trying to tell me when he’s talking about our car. Well I think that will just bore me to death so I’ll just leave him to take care of that.
She’s been amazing us constantly. I still feel bad about not posting a lot here but I’ll try to make up for lost time…
Of course every parent thinks their child is smart and beautiful and I’m one of those parents (love your own di ba). Since she’s our first everything she does is just plain amazing to us, we don’t have anyone to compare here with (not that I want to do that of course).
She can recite and identify the letters of the alphabet. She likes looking at my shirt and telling me the letters she identify. We’re working on the lowercase letters right now as she is more familiar with the uppercase letters.
She can recite and identify numbers. She’s still forgets some numbers from eleven to twenty but she’s getting better in pronouncing them. She can identify numbers one to ten.
She can identify common animals such as dog, duck, cat and imitate the sound they make.
She can identify shapes. She knows some of the colors too such as pink, yellow and purple.
She convey what she wants to say more clearly. For instance…
Daddy wer? Daddy are youuuuu? = Daddy where are you?
Daddy wer?
Wow coooo = Wow cool!
Oh noooo! Happen? = Oh no! What happen?
Mommy here! Mommy here! = Mommy come here!
Pweeese = please
Teyk Ker! Ha fun! = Take Care! Have Fun! (She hears this all the time from me)
O ayt = Good night
Siiit Down = Sit down
Bubash = Tootbrush
She can identify and name her the characters in her favorite shows such as Barney, Beejay, Bebe Bop, Minnie, Mickey, Pocoyo, Pooh. She love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins, Barney, Tigger and Pooh right now. She prefers Mickey Mouse over Barney these days.
It’s fun when she’s watching the shows because she laughs at the funny parts (always fun to hear) and gasp on the mishaps (she will really say Oh no!) and dance when there’s dance routines involved.
She’s still a picky eater although her weight falls in the upper 50% margin so we’re not worried and so is her pediatrician. She loves chicken rice, any soup (miso soup, cream of mushroom and clam chowder are her favorites), fish, french fries, bread, biscuits. She loves drinking juice so her daddy would make papaya or watermelon juice for us and we let her drink from the glass.
She already ate her first peanut butter sandwich. I waited until she’s two before I let her try one and she’s okay with it.
She now wears a size seven shoes. I think size six will still fit her but it does look small on her.
She still takes three hour afternoon naps and sleeps a bit late.
That’s all I have right now.
I’ve been a lazy blogger, ugh!
I should remember to blog more frequently especially about the little girl. It makes me sad that I wasn’t able to post much about her and her development these past month but then again there’s no one else to blame but me.
Sigh.
