I’m preparing the things we’ll bring for the little girl for our little trip next week. No we’re not going to one of those Vegas vacations, I don’t think I can handle that long flight with a toddler just yet. Instead we’re going to Cameron Highlands and Kuala Lumpur for four days. This is a less scary/not so stressful trip (I hope) since it doesn’t involve being on a plane. I really look forward to it too, as early as now I’m planning what to bring because I don’t want to forget anything.
My daughter loves playing with her yellow ball. Makes me wonder if we should get her some sports gifts that she could play with instead of the usual dolls and tea set.As much as she’s a girly girl at heart and she loves playing dress up and calls put anything on her head (like a plastic bowl for instance) and declares she’s a princess she likes to play with balls and cars too. I don’t mind at all of course. I like to keep a nice mix of toys at home so she could choose what she wants to play with and not be bored by the same things.

The fun thing about scrapbooking is that I get to make wonderful layouts about my little girl. One of my recent projects is a mini album using pictures from her birthday at home. I take a lot of pictures each month and rather than having it stuck in my hard drive I have this cute little album with my favorite pictures of that evening. I know at one point I would like to have all my favorite photos of the family printed and stored in photo albums but for now I love looking at my layouts.
It’s nice that my little girl can understand and follow instructions now. This age is so much fun, well most of the time anyway. She knows about hygiene and know what she needs to brush her teeth even if she doesn’t really like it. I still help her brush properly but after I’m done cleaning her teeth I let her do it too. She knows and actually likes washing her hands, she could stay in the sink for a while if I let her. Now we don’t have Grohe faucets at home but that doesn’t stop her. She also loves baths and likes playing with the bubbles. It is great that I don’t need to force her to do any of these things.
The wedding we’re going to attend is just a little over a week away and I feel relieved that we already bought hubby’s clothes for the event. We didn’t want to wear a tuxedo and I know I couldn’t make him so we just bought him a nice long sleeve shirt and tie to go with the black pants he only wore once before (which still fits him nicely). I already bought my dress but I still need shoes, shawl and purse to go with it. I’m going shopping with the little girl this week, hopefully it will be less crowded at the mall if we go a bit early. Wish me luck.

She’s excited about Christmas alright. She loves the Christmas decorationd especially the Christmas lights. Oh she doesn’t pull out ornaments from our tree most of the time, she loves playing with the gifts under it though. Good thing we don’t have any gifts than would break. She loves gingerbread cookies and she’s been watching Mickey Mouse Christmas movies since last week. I’m excited to start a new tradition this year which is stocking stuffers, 12 days before Christmas she will find a little something for her inside her stocking that Santa gave her. Oh that reminds me I need to start shopping for that, lol. It doesn’t have to be big, small things that I’m sure she’ll love like books, or anything with Mickey & Minnie Mouse on it (she loves them a lot), hair accessories, and sweets…all sorts of things like that would be fine. It’s really nice that she is starting to appreciate Christmas now. I should read Christmas stories with her now too, maybe when simbang gabi starts…it would be nice to read to her about the real meaning of Christmas. These are the things I look forward to doing with my daughter.
I am tired. We had our annual Christmas party this evening and it was great. Lots of food and I got a chance to chat with my mommy friends too. There’s a lot of kids as well and the little girl has a blast playing, she even let other people carry her. It was nice to see her playing with other kiddos and adults, she wasn’t so shy tonight. Anyway on our way home she was still full of energy, she was babbling on and on about balloons and the cars we’re seeing on the road. She even said “nice car” to one car that was parked in the garage of a house, I’m not sure if it was a chrysler 300 but it was definitely a nice car.
Now I don’t know much about cars except maybe if you ask me about Formula One racing so I couldn’t tell if it was a 2008 chrysler 300 that we saw. It could be an older model for all I know but I’m not really a good judge of that. I could be staring at something like chrysler 300 reviews or 2008 chrysler 300 reviews and still not know which is which. I just know a fancy car when I see but not the make or a model not unless it is obvious. Formula One Racing on the other hand is another story.
The little girl enjoys taking long rides, she loves going places which is great because we go to the mall every week and she’s up for that. She even falls asleep along the way so I don’t have problems at all. This makes me confident that she’s gonna be fine on our upcoming trip. It’s our post anniversary celebration and I’m really excited about it.
My little girl loves Minnie Mouse, she watches Mickey Mouse Clubhouse as much as she watches Barney these days. She would actually tell me which one she prefers to watch, most of the time she’ll say “watch Mickey.” I got her this lil Minnie Mouse plush for her birthday and she loves it. It would be nice if I could get a Minnie Mouse outfit for her, what a nice photo opp would that be. I know I could just go to Etsy and find one…
Last Saturday hubby and I went to the child care centre nearby to inquire about their classes. I’m hoping to sign up the little girl for their playgroup class next year. It turned out that they only have full days classes left so I have to find another centre for her. I hope I could find out near our place. I was also told she could start nursery one next year, I was surprised. I mean she’s only two, my baby going for nursery class?! As it turns out they go my the year of birth here so technically she’s considered a three year old next school year thus she could attend nursery one. I’m not sure about that, I’ve asked friends and most of my mommy friends send their children to playgroups at around two and half years of age and nursery class at three. So I’m thinking I will do the same. The playgroup class would be around two hours which is fine by me. Now I’m going to be making calls this week and see which centres still have available slots. I’m not in hurry, it’s okay if she doesn’t start her classes this January. Oh and while we were at the centre I noticed there’s a few children there too, I guess their parents work on Saturdays as well, I wonder if they have a spy camera for the parents so they’ll know what their kids do at class.
I take hundreds of photos each month and with that a chunk of my ehd space is consumed. I don’t keep photos on my memory stick because I would hate it if it gets busted and I lose any photos. Right now our photos are stored in two ehd one is mine for my scrapbooking and the other one is on our main ehd for backup. I wanted to printed our photos too. Maybe when I get around choosing from the thousands we have I’ll upload them to Artscow since they offer cheap printing services.
