Today I enrolled Iyah to nursery school. I officially have a preschooler! I’m excited for her, I know she’ll have lots of fun at school spending time with kids her own age. I’m a little worried at how she will react when I drop her off, she’s so attached to me I worry that she might cry when she realize mommy won’t be with her in class. I’m also a little sad because she’s growing up so fast, tomorrow will mark the start of me having a school going kid.
She will only go for two hours five days a week, which I think is just right. I just want her to socialize with other kids and learn to share with others and wait her turn. Being an only child she’s use to having all the toys to herself so sharing is something we need to work on, I think preschool would be helpful in this area. I want her to learn the rest (like reading, math, chinese) at her own pace, for now I will be happy to watch her flourish and be with kids her own age. More than anything I want to raise a happy, well rounded and healthy little girl.
We’re both excited for tomorrow, mommy will be bringing a camera to document this huge milestone.
Can you tell from these photos? Lol.

She could finish one Auntie Anne’s cinnamon sugar pretzel, she likes it a lot. AA is only available in certain malls so we make sure we buy her one whenever we get the chance.
Last month the little got cough and fever twice, she doesn’t fall sick easily so twice in a month was a lot. It made me think of health insurance leads and how important it is for a family. The first time she got sick it went on for a week, the next one lasted for a bit longer. I was worried about her fever the most because it was going on and off for days, eventually her fever broke then it was just medication for her cough. Thankfully after a few days of medicine and lots of fluids she’s all better.
This Mega Bloks Dora’s Buildable Boots Treehouse Adventure is another Christmas gift from Mommy and Daddy. Another addition to her Dora mega bloks which she plays with constantly. I have to keep track of the pieces though so it won’t be scattered all over the house. She knows she needs to put her toys back in the toybox after she plays with them but you know how kids are, sometimes she ends up stuffing small pieces in drawers and under the bed too. Oh well mommy is here to clean up after her anyway….

This little girl keeps us on our toes. She’s a bright and funny little girl, she does have her moments sometimes but still she’s a darling most of the time. I love that we can carry conversations with each other and it’s amazing how little minds work. I don’t think she is bulol, except maybe when she’s singing and she doesn’t really know all the words so she mumbles the lines (lol). She can write I and H on her nickname, still working on how to connect the lines for the A and Y. She likes Minnie Mouse still but she’s branching out and liking other cartoon characters as well like Dora the explorer and Little Einsteins. When you ask her what is her favorite color, the answer is always the same…Pink. Her favorite number, 83 (the bus that passes by our block…lol). She knows her daddy has to go to the office everyday. Whenever I get frustrated with her, she will come to me and say “Don’t be mad Mommy, I’m here” and give me a smile. She’s still shy around adults but she loves to play with other kids. Ahhh she’s an active toddler….
My little girl turns three today. Wow three years old already, the years few by just like that. It’s bittersweet for me because as much as I love that she is growing up to be this sweet, thoughful, smart and beautiful little girl I can’t help but feel a teeny bit sad that she is indeed growing up. I love her to bits and I love that she depends on me and needs me by her side all the time. If we could only freeze time even for a little bit, to savor each moment. I feel sad that I don’t get to blog about her, I don’t get to write in my journal all the little things she say or do as often as I should. I don’t have the all the exact dates of her milestones and I don’t know them by heart either. But I’m glad that I get to be there for her everyday, I may not write about it often but it doesn’t matter because I’m with her and I get to experience those precious moments and I get to see those milestones.
I’m being sentimental because by baby is now three years old. I can her her calling “Mommy where are you?” and I’m sure I’ll get a sloppy kiss and hug when she gets here. We have a party for friends later this evening, a small celebration for our little princess whom we love dearly.
Happy Birthday Iyah! Mommy and Daddy loves you!

We took Iyah down our block to play at the playground and to play with the bubble machine we got for her. It was a windy afternoon and she had so much fun chasing after the bubbles. She fell down three times but she didn’t mind at all, good thing she was running on grass so she didn’t have any scratches. She was laughing the whole time and it was fun watching her. There were some kids who saw the bubbles and they joined in the fun too. It was a nice day.
I finally got the frames for Iyah’s room (at Ikea of course) and I was able to get some pretty patterned papers at my local scrapbook store. I cut them to size and placed each one on the frames. I love the end result…

I will ask my dear husband to put these on the wall exactly like this, I think it’s going to be pretty. Oh I haven’t had the chance to take pictures of the shelves we mounted on the wall of her room. I decided not to to with a specific them for her room, especially cartoon theme…even if she adores Minnie Mouse. Her room is a work in progress still but so far it looks nice. She have a nice extendable bed that can be adjusted from cot size to a single size bed. A storage unit with pretty baskets for her toys, shelves to display her stuff toys and the frames above for one side of the bedroom wall. We picked up a nice pink and girly rug and a pink bedsheet set too.
I can’t believe my daughter’s turning three in a month. I know this gets said all the time but time indeed flies. My teeny tiny baby is going to be three years old soon! I’m right on track with the party planning (I think). We’re going to have a Luau Party this year, it’s going to be fun.
At almost three my little girl…
Knows her numbers 4396841, up to 40 she can recite it for us.
She’s talking in sentences, most of the time (I would say 99% of the time) we can understand her clearly.
She understands the concept of big and small, fast and slow, many and few and a lot more.
She knows her colors.
She is practicing writing the alphabet, so far she traces each letter in her workbooks. She can write A and H without a guide.
She loves animals, she can identify a lot of them in books, on TV or at the zoo.
She loves reading/browsing her books. I plan to buy her more books each month so she’ll have more to choose from.
She likes to paint, I love how her imagination works.
She is going to outgrow her current shoe size in two months.
I know I’ve missed a lot more but these are all I can think of right now.

These photos were taken after she calmed down from a tantrum. I gave her a bath and she wanted to play with her bath buddies but we were going to the grocery and was running a bit late so I told her no. She cried and cried from the bathroom to her room where I dressed her. It was really hard not to get frustrated with all the crying (nakakabingi) as I dress her but I managed to be calm and just hugged her and let her know she can play next time. Finally she said “kay Mom, thanks” and she’s all smiles again.
