Playground Fun

Posted in Little/Big Adventures | No Comments »

We went to Downtown East yesterday because Iyah has been bugging me for the past three days that she wants t ride a ferris wheel. We had a late lunch at there and went to see the ferris wheel, on our way to get the tickets though the little girl saw the carousel and changed her mind. She said she wanted to ride the carousel this time, I told her she can ride it and the choo choo train but she won’t be able to ride the ferris wheel anymore to which she agreed. She had a great time, I accompanied her at the carousel but she went to the train ride by herself….the ferris wheel ride completely forgotten (lol). After that since the weather was great I told my husband we should head to Pasir Ris Park and let Iyah play at the playground, so off we went. We were dropped off the other side of the park where families who are camping pitched their tents so we had to walk a little bit to reach the playground. It was nice seeing families enjoy the great outdoors, dads flying kites with their kids, grandparents preparing to barbeque their food, children biking and rollerblading…everyone having a great time. I’m not really an outdoors type of person, I do not like walking on grass or getting all sweaty and sticky or being bitten by bugs but the thought of us having a relaxing afternoon seem to be a nice idea.
Anyway when we reached the playground a lot of kids were already playing there, good thing we were able to spot an empty swing for Iyah. She loved the swing (too bad the playgrounds we have near our home doesn’t have swings) and she kept telling us how much fun it is and she insisted that I push her higher and higher. After she got tired of the swing we went to explore the other areas of the playground, she had fun at the slides of course and we got a lot of nice pictures. She was sad when it was time for us to go but we promised her we will be back next time. I hope we could bring our dslr next time so I can have really nice pictures of the place.

At the birdpark

Posted in Little/Big Adventures | No Comments »

We went to the birdpark this weekend and of course the little girl had a great time. We originally wanted to go to the science centre but as it turns out you can’t purchase tickets onlineth same day you are visiting the place so we decided to go there some other time. Anyway when we got there Iyah scrapped her knee just as we wee entering the birdpark, yes we haven’t even gotten inside yet! She got over it pretty quickly though so everything was fine. We rented a red wagon which she loved and it was great for us too because we didn’t have to carry our bags.

Swimming with friends

Posted in Little/Big Adventures, Out and About, Preschool Diaries, School Vacation | No Comments »

Iyah’s one week school vacation started yesterday and today we went swimming with her friends from school together with their mommies (who are now friends of mine too). The little girl was so excited to play with her friends and of course she loved to swim so you can bet my little girl was ecstatic. This was the first outing that hubby wasn’t with us so I had to do everything myself. This explains the lack of pictures, I was so busy making sure Iyah is safe at the pool so I didn’t use the camera much.

I brought a manual pump for Iyah’s float and it was a big hit with the kids, they took turns using it. We stayed at the kiddie pool so the kids can freely play on their own, within our reach of course. Iyah lost her balance once and swallowed some pool water but she was fine, she didn’t even cry nor stopped playing.

When we got home I was so tired and my whole body was aching. I realized today how hard it is when it’s just me, makes me appreciate the husband even more. I was so sore I went to bed early and stayed there eventhough I wasn’t sleeping.

All in all it was a fun outing for the kids (and mommies too). We’ll definitely do this again on the next school vacation.

Pretty Clippies

Posted in Little/Big Adventures, Shopping for Baby | No Comments »

These are some of the pretty clippies I found at Gymboree. I have lots more in my cart and I can’t decide which ones to keep, I might end up getting more than I should. Iyah has lots of clippies as it is but these are too cute not to buy. Her hair is longer now and I can tie it in a ponytail, loose ends come off eventually but still it’s a long way from the almost bald little baby girl of mine. I will order an clip holder from Etsy for all her clippies, I like to hang it on the wall but she might just play with them so I guess it’s better to hang it on her closet door.

Love To Swim

Posted in Little/Big Adventures, Out and About | No Comments »

Yes my little girl loves to swim. She enjoys the water so much that it is difficult to take her off the pool when it’s time to shower. This photo was taken last Saturday at the pool of Orchard Parade Hotel. You can view more photos here. I decided to take the family there for no reason at all (lol), it was really unplanned but it turned out great. I will definitely do this again. Surprise my husband with bags packed and only tell him where we’re going afterwards. We had the pool to ourselves that morning and the little girl had so much fun.

Ikea Trip

Posted in Baby Memorables, Little/Big Adventures | No Comments »

Last Wednesday we went shopping at Ikea. The little girl was so excited. Of course she didn’t know where we were going but as long as we go outside the house she is one happy little girl. See this is her when we were about to go…you can see how delighted she was (thank goodness for good lighting I was able to get this nice photo).

We got there around lunch time to we went to the restaurant first. Good thing is was a weekday because on weekends this place is packed with hungry shoppers. The little girl was behaved the whole time. She ate her food and stayed on her seat (to mommy and daddy’s relief). We were able to enjoy our lunch.

Now when we went to the store it was a different story. She became really excited, especially when we were at the children’s furniture section. She was giggling and running all over the place. She sat on the sofas, lay down on the beds and played with the toys.

Guess what she wanted us to buy for her? A lint remover! Lol. She was carrying two lint rollers the whole time, good thing I was able to distrate her with something else so I was able to take it from her before we checked out our purchases. I ended up getting new bedsheets, curtains for the living room window, some kitchen stuff and a tent for Iyah.

It was a great shopping trip indeed.
