When we moved to our house my husband thought of buying a new mountain bike so he could go around the neighbourhood every weekend with our little girl. Unfortunately I didn’t learn how to ride a bike as a child so I can’t go with them but I will definitely be taking lots of pictures. He went so far as to checkout yakima bike racks at cracksandracks.com so he could have something decent to park the bike at during weekdays. I didn’t want to have it inside the house so he will place it at the carpark along with other bicycles. Well two years later he still haven’t gotten the bicycle he wanted (lol), maybe next year he will give in and actually buy one.

02 SepGoing out with her
We went to the mall today to buy a few things. I won’t say we went shopping because we only got a few essentials and never passed through barcode scanners more than we should. We still had fun though, it’s always nice to spend some quality time with my little girl just the two of us. Sometimes I feel sad that I don’t get to spend a lot of time with her like when she was our only child but I know that she still feel loved and she’s a happy and secured child. Still I try to make up for it by having exclusive dates with her, I know she loves it too. It is challenging to take care of two kids, I want to be there for both of them but sometimes it’s hard but I do my best and it seems to be working for us.
01 SepMy thoughts

This is a layout I did documenting how it was like when we found out we were having another child. It was planned, we waited and we prayed for this blessing and we were thankful that our prayers were answered. Now our sweet little bundle of joy is almost five months old, she is beautiful and gives us so much happiness. She is so bubbly and active and she brighten our days.
29 AugNo smoking
I’m so glad that my husband doesn’t smoke, I don’t think I would have wanted to be married with someone who smoke a pack of cigarettes a day. We drink occasionally on social gatherings but other than that we don’t do anything that would require special insurance such as smokers life insurance. We have a good health insurance and I’m happy that we do, we just have to do our part and do what we can to stay healthy for the sake of our family. We have two children that depends on us after all so we can’t afford to be careless, we just don’t think of ourselves anymore we have their future to plan for.
28 AugBeing a girl
My daughter is into playing dress up lately. It’s fun to watch her be a princess or a teacher or a ballet dancer when she plays. She’s in her own little world and I just sit there and observe how she is immersed in role playing, her imagination at play and she’s one happy little girl. Sometimes I find her looking into my closet, maybe wanting to try some of my clothes, garter belt or shoes but she haven’t ventured that far yet. I guess she knows that mommy’s things are not suppose to be played with (what a good girl) but I don’t think I would mind if she did as long as she doesn’t play with my makeup.
27 AugHer car
It’s frustrating to deal with car troubles all the time, well not me since we don’t have a car here yet but my cousin. She’s been dealing with a lot of car issues lately that she thought she should just go ahead and get Web-Est.com auto repair shop software to make it easy to schedule appointments with her mechanic. She regrets buying a second hand car, she told she should have just saved up for a brand new car with all the money she’s been spending lately for the repairs. I sure am glad we’re not burdened with car troubles. I hope she get everything fixed soon.
26 AugFun for them
My friend’s son is into a lot of extra curricular activities lately and he’s enjoying it a lot. He even knows things such as breeches and golf clubs which is kind of funny. I guess it’s great when kids do what they love, they put their hearts to it and get to have fun too. I know my daughter loves going to her ballet classes, she loves it so much that she doesn’t mind getting up early on a Saturday to attend her class. I don’t want to overdo it though so one class this year is enough to keep her busy along with her regular classes in K1.
21 AugReading to your baby
From babycenter…
When should I start reading to my baby?
Let’s Play: Weekly Baby Activities
Find two perfect, development-boosting activities for every week of your baby’s first year.
It’s never too early. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends reading aloud daily to your baby starting at 6 months of age — about the time when he’ll really begin to enjoy looking at books with you. But Jim Trelease, longtime read-aloud expert and author of the Read Aloud Handbook, says that you can start when your child’s a newborn. No matter what your baby’s age, of course, reading provides a great opportunity for cuddling and bonding.
Why is reading to my baby good for him?
Reading will help build your child’s vocabulary, stimulate his imagination, and improve his communication skills. In fact, the more you speak to your child from the get-go, the better it is for his growth and development. Studies have shown that language skills — and even intelligence — are related to how many words an infant hears each day. In one study, babies whose parents spoke to them a lot (an average of 2,100 words an hour) scored higher on standard tests when they reached age 3 than did children whose parents hadn’t been as verbal. A running commentary on the state of the neighborhood during your walk and naming your child’s body parts as you bathe him are good ways to chat. Reading is one more fun way to add variety to your verbal interactions.
What should I read to my infant?
For the first few months, your infant will be picking up on the rhythm of language — rather than the content — as he hears you speak. So when it comes to reading materials, anything goes — children’s books, a magazine, or even that novel you’ve been trying to finish.
Your baby may be fascinated by pictures with bright colors and sharp contrast, though, so stock up on board books and picture books, too.
Once he’s no longer an infant, what types of books will be best for my baby?
Let your child be the judge. Books with colorful drawings and catchy phrases are sure to please. Since babies love to grab and mouth everything they can reach, board books or those with heavy-duty pages will best survive the wear and tear. Some children prefer books with photographs, while others like books with built-in activities — images hidden under flaps or behind sliding partitions. (Don’t choose anything too delicate, though.) Once you’ve explored a favorite type of book, try another. Your baby’s sure to enjoy something completely different every once in a while.
Your baby may also enjoy the singsong rhythm and playful wording of nursery rhymes. They’re easy to remember, so you can chant them during daily routines (“Rub-a-dub-dub, three men in a tub”).
What about videos and books on tape?
Babies need to feel an emotional connection with the words being spoken or they simply filter out the language, so steer clear of books on tape, as well as radio and television. “As with all activities parents do with kids, it’s how attentive parents are to their kids’ responses that is so critical,” says Betty Hart, professor emeritus of human development at the University of Kansas in Lawrence.
As for videos, experts say most are best reserved for children over age 3. “Putting babies in front of a machine is alienating,” says Eveline Carsman, editor of Children’s Review Newsletter. In her opinion, videos aimed at young babies have no redeeming qualities that compensate for babies being left alone to watch them.
Should I try to teach my baby sounds and letters from the start?
When you read to your young child, focus on the pleasure at hand, not the alphabetical learning experience. An early emphasis on teaching letters, sounds, and syllables can sap the enjoyment of story time. If you read to your child enough, he’ll eventually — when he’s ready — make the connection between the sounds of words and the letters on the pages. In the meantime, teaching him to enjoy reading is a much more valuable lesson than nailing his phonics at an early age.
18 AugFor her school break
Next month my little girl will have a week off from school, her last one before the final term starts. It seems unreal that we only have a few months left before she finishes K1, before I knew it I would have a child going to the big school. I’m glad that she’s enjoying school though, she have friends and although she sometimes tell me that one of her classmates is not being nice to her overall she has a lot of friends. I also got a lot of great feedbacks from her form teachers so I’m very proud of her. Anyway as early as now I’m planning what sorts of activities we will do during her school break. I know I should have a few game for kids on standby as I want to host a playdate with from of her friends from school. I also want to buy craft supplies so we can go something together, I’m sure she will truly enjoy making all sorts of crafty projects with me. I already have a few sets of foam art here at home but I want to checkout our local bookstore for more supplies. I know she would have to go out as well so a trip to the mall and the library is on my list of things to do as well.
16 AugLosing the weight
I’ve lost a lot of weight since I gave birth four months ago, I notice the difference in how I look and how my clothes fit and I’m happy about it. I do want to lose a few more pounds as I was already overweight before I got pregnant. I really want to try workout zumba and see if it will work for me. I know one of the main reasons of my weight loss if because I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding my baby since day one. I have to get use to working out even for about 45 minutes every other day so that I could still maintain this weight even if I stop breastfeeding.
