My mom was asking me about floor mats for suvs and she thought it would be cheaper if I just buy a few pieces here and send it to them through a parcel. I’m not sure how heavy these are or what materials are the best to use as mats, clearly I’m not the right person to shop for her. I will ask for my husband’s opinion, he would have great inputs and will probably help me shop for he right mats for my parent’s car. He will have an idea of what is great and price wise he could tell which one will be a good buy. At least my mom is not really in a hurry to have these items, we can shop around until we find he right one.
15 AugMat for that
14 AugBouncing baby boy
A friend of mine recently gave birth to her son and a month before their little one’s arrival they bought two dozens of cheap avo cigars to giveaway to friends. I know she was hoping to have a girl this time as her eldest is a boy but her husband was so happy when he found out that they were having another boy. The baby was born a few weeks early so it small, only 2.1kg which is small for a boy but everything went smoothly during her delivery. They’re due to have the christening next month. I’m so happy for them.
13 AugFour Months Old
From babycenter:
How your baby’s growing:
Researchers believe that your baby can now understand all the basic sounds that make up his native language. Between this time and 6 months of age, he’ll develop the ability to make some of these sounds, which means you may hear the words you’ve been dreaming about, namely “mama” and “dada.” While child development experts say it’s too early for your baby to connect those sounds with you, that won’t make hearing them any less exciting.
You can encourage your baby’s attempts at communication by mirroring or imitating his expressions and sounds. He may try to imitate you, too. Say “ba” and he may try to say it back.
Reacting when your baby makes noises or tries to say something will help him learn the importance of language and better understand cause and effect. It’s great for his self-esteem, too: He’ll begin to realize that what he says makes a difference.

07 JulPlain car talk
A friend of mine recently bought a brand new Toyota Prius as a gift for herself on her 35th birthday. She’s single and has a rewarding career so I know she deserves it and she’s really happy with the purchase. She doesn’t know anything about cars aside from driving it so she is counting on her younger brother to do all the maintenance and repairs if needed. I’m sure she can’t wait to drive the car around and have some custom made work done to make it truly her own.
Here in my side of the world, owning a car can be very expensive and I’m not talking about just the maintenance. It is really a big purchase that I’ve talked my husband out of buying one several times. I know having one can make our lives easier especially now that we have two kids, I’m just scared of the long term commitment owning one entails. If you will ask me I would like a Honda Odyssey, I think it would be perfect for our family. The question is are we ready to buy one this year.
Back home it is much easier to own and maintain a car, even if you own an older model. I know my parents were suppose to upgrade their SUV but since it doesn’t have a lot of mileage and is still working perfectly they decided to put off the upgrade. My dad have his eyes on the new Nissan Armada but my mom convinced him to keep their car for now, maybe in two years they can consider a getting new SUV again.
05 JulBaby toys for her
Our baby is now starting to be curious with things around her, she loves to be propped to a sitting position so she can look around. She loves “talking to us” and she would always giggle and laugh when she sees our faces. So now I’m checking out toy stores for Lamaze toys so she can have something to play with, she got a lot of toys from her christening but she’s still too young to play with any of them so I’m going to pick up a few toys for her. I don’t think Garmin chirp will be needed to locate the toys as there are plenty of shops that offers them, I’m just looking for a store that sells them at a cheaper price.
04 JulNo more next time
I helped a friend send a a well-received sympathy and bereavement gift to one of her former co-worker last week and though it was very much appreciated by the receiver I have to complain that we had a hard time placing our order. I will definitely find another shop/store next time around as I don’t want to experience the same hassle we had to go through. I know we all want good bargains but sometimes getting it cheap also means that you won’t get the best customer service, I’d rather pay a little bit more then. Lesson learned.
02 JulCar on the road
A friend of mine who takes frequent trip across the causeway told me the other day that her husband signed them up for roadside assistance club because he thought it would be helpful in case they encounter car troubles. I thought it is a great idea, you won’t know when you’ll have car problems on a road trip. Even if the car is in perfectly working condition no one can really say it will not stall or overheat. At least they have someone to call when they need help. As for us we don’t have a car here so we don’t have to worry about any of this stuff.
01 JulA mat for play
I’m thinking about what we should do when our little baby starts crawling. Right now she just started to roll on her side so it could take weeks or even months before she learns to roll over and then a couple more weeks before she starts to crawl. I want to be prepared though, we have f=”http://www.bestlaminate.net/”>laminate flooring in our bedrooms so we definitely need to make it baby friendly. I think I should checkout how much those playmats I see at Mini Toons, I think I prefer those over the puzzle pieces type that her elder sister used before.
26 JunYour 2-month-old’s development: Week 4
Hands on
Your little one first discovered her hands a couple of weeks back, and now she’s downright fascinated with them. Watch as she examines them, puts them in her mouth, and tries to suck on them.
Don’t worry if your baby becomes a bit obsessed with her newly discovered digits: This form of self-comfort can be very soothing for your baby — and can possibly give you a little break, too.
Steady now
This week, when you go to pick up your baby, she may be able to lift her head and hold it up for several moments, or even longer, while lying on her back. When sitting with support, she should be able to hold her head steady and erect.
When she’s on her stomach, you might see her lifting her head and chest to about 45 degrees as if she were doing mini-pushups. You can offer encouragement by sitting in front of her and dangling a toy.
For a fun game that also develops her neck muscles, place your baby on her back and slowly pull her up by her hands to a sitting position. Slowly ease her back down, and repeat. She should be able to hold her head in line with the rest of her body as it’s pulled up.
Your baby may be ready for a jogging stroller at 4 months, but stick to smooth pavement for now. Running trails will be too bouncy for her at this point, unless she can hold her head up well and is able to sit up. When her head is steady, she may be ready for a backpack with good support and a headrest.
Reading 101
Reading to your baby, even at this young age, will pay off. Hearing you read helps your baby develop an ear for the cadence of language. Varying the pitch of your voice, using accents, and singing will make the connection between you and your baby that much more interesting.
If she looks the other way or loses interest while you’re reading, just try something else or give her time to rest. Take your cue from her responses.
You’ll find plenty of good books to read to your baby — such as Goodnight Moon, Good Night Gorilla, and The Big Red Barn. Choose board books that have large, bright pictures and simple text — or even wordless books that have pictures for you to narrate. At this point you needn’t be slavish to age guidelines. Books designed for older children can captivate a baby if they have clear, crisp images and bright colors.
You can even read out loud to your child from something written for adult ears — try reading from the newspaper, your favorite novel, or a magazine. Whether it’s Shakespeare or the latest bestseller, if you enjoy reading it, your baby will like hearing the rhythms of your voice.
21 JunPlan ahead
Since I don’t have much time to scrap these days I’m thinking I should really plan ahead to make sure that what I need gets done. For instance I should start thinking about our holiday invitations and maybe start designing a layout or two that way I’m sure I can have one done before it’s too late to send them to friends come Christmas season. Everyone will be busy then and for me I will be busier than usual so planning way ahead can really help me cope.
